The internal common areas of even the most luxurious apartment buildings are easily neglected. And yet, these are one of the first areas of a building to make an impression on visitors and residents alike. Even the most carefully and stylishly designed apartments are let down if the approach to them resembles something from an unloved hotel or office complex. That’s why, at Earl Kendrick Interior Design, we believe the communal areas should receive the same creative flair and attention as every other part of a well-designed residential building.
A shared Passion
Two of our directors, Julian Davies and Simon Hamilton, first met whilst collaborating on the internal communal areas of a prestigious residential development in Chelsea. Their shared passion for producing highly desirable internal common areas is a key driver of The Surveyor’s Collection.
Julian brings vast amounts of technical knowledge as the Founder and Director of Earl Kendrick Project and Building Consultancy – experts in dealing with major works for the managed residential sector – alongside his qualification from the National Design Academy.
Simon is an accomplished Interior Designer and Creative Director of 30 years’ standing with multiple projects completed in the UK and Europe. Lisa Blatcher is an award-winning innovative property and interior designer with extensive high-end residential sector experience, delivering numerous schemes for demanding and discerning clients across the UK. Together, the team have an unrivalled understanding of the nuances involved in working with large, prestigious buildings, whether these are heritage properties or modern developments.
This means our team combines expertise in surveying and project management with an outstanding flair for interior design. We are fully versed in all the relevant industry protocols, from fire regulations to health and safety, but will never compromise on quality or aesthetics. We keep up with emerging technologies, environmental issues and design innovations. Additionally, we can host workshops in our central London materials and samples library where clients can explore the possibilities.
We are especially familiar with the regulations about leasehold properties, and adept at working with management boards and residents’ committees to maximise communications throughout a project, and ensure everything runs smoothly. We use tried and trusted suppliers, contractors and other fellow professionals so you can rest assured you are in the best hands from the initial concept to the completion stages of your project.
